Blake Shelton Releases New Album 'Body Language'
For years, I have begged the question, "what in the hell happened to Blake Shelton?" He has a great personality, seems like the life of the party, a great distinctive voice, and used to have some pretty damn good country music. But over the years, it stopped feeling honest and got pretty corny.
With that said, that brings us here today with the release of his new album, 'Body Language. The album kicks off with his latest single, Minimum Wage, which surrounded itself with controversy when a snippet of the song was first released, due to mostly financial situations from the pandemic, I guess? Who knows, someone's always bitching.
The next song on the album is the title track, Body Language. It's a little poppy, it's a little weird for to hear 44 year old Blake say "I can speak your body language" BUT it's actually not a bad song, at all. It's catchy, Blake's vocals sound good, and most importantly, it's not corny.
'Monday Mornin' Missin' You' is a solid album fuller. Kinda sounds like old Blake Shelton. Couldn't help but tap my toe.
'The Flow' instantly turned me off with the sound of the snap track, 'Neon Time' sounds a little beachy, 'Now I Don't' is a decently good song, but him saying 'Straight Up' in the chorus made me cringe, and 'Bible Verses' is hands down the best song on the album.
Kind of what I expected, but also not as bad. If that makes sense.
