Charley Pride Dies at Age 86 From COVID-19 Complications
29 #1's. 52 top ten hits. Multiple CMA and Grammy awards. I've said it before and I'll say it again; Fuck 2020
Today, we lost Country music legend, Charley Pride at age 86 from Covid-19 related complications. Further details haven't yet been released but adding this to the list of country music stars lost this year is devastating.
Pride moved to Nashville back in 1963 and eventually signed a deal with RCA records through Chet Atkins. After spending a lot of time at the Opry, Pride fell in love with the genre and was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2000.
His last performance came just last month with Jimmie Allen. Watch below.
RIP to the first black trailblazer in the genre.
