Country Music Streams Hit New Record High Again
Just recently, country music streams topped a record high, now it's gone and done it again.
According to Keith Caulfield from Billboard, the week ending in April 23rd resulted in a total of 1.260 billion audio streams in the U.S. There wasn't even a "huge" album release that week.
Apparently older country songs had the biggest gains in the genre. They were accounted for 72.2% of total audio streams. Significant well-performing songs in that category included Jason Aldean's Dirt Road Anthem, Luke Bryan's Country Girl (Shake It For Me), and Chris Stapleton's Tennessee Whiskey.
There are so many different types of artists and sounds within the country music genre itself, so whatever you prefer, it's nice to see a song from Jason's 2010 album "My Kinda Party" still streaming well.
Chris Stapleton is also, well...Chris Fucking Stapleton.
