Morgan Wallen Releases Apology Video
After a video that showed Morgan Wallen using a racial slur surfaced and shocked not only the country music community, but the world in general, he released an official apology video on youtube this evening.
He starts off by apologizing to those closest to him, especially his parents saying they are the "furthest thing from the person in that video."
Despite being suspended from his record label, dropped from award show eligibility, removed from the biggest country music stations, and many, many people expressing disappointment and anger with him, his sales have quadrupled since the incident and he still has many fans sticking up for him on social media.
Morgan admitted he was at the end of a 72 hour bender when the video was filmed and has been 9 days sober ever since. He also has accepted invitations from black organizations to "engage in some very real and honest conversations."
"I have one favor to ask. I appreciate those who have defended me and still see something in me but for today, please don't. I was wrong. It's on me. I take ownership of this."
There's no doubt this will be a huge blemish on his career but I'm positive he will come back and still have a massive impact on the music industry.
