Morgan Wallen's 'Dangerous' Spends 9th Week at #1 Shattering Records
According to MRC data, Morgan Wallen's 'Dangerous' earned 78,000 album units in the week ending in March 11th, putting his double album at number 1 again for the ninth consecutive week, the only country artist ever to do so.
Despite his recent controversy and pretty much being removed from every country radio station, playlist and award show, his fans have proven they aren't going to stop listening to his music. And when you make as good of music as he does and have set yourself apart as one of the next biggest stars in the genre, you aren't going to cancel that. That's why he is still at number 1, that's why he wasn't "permanently" suspended from his label either.
Morgan joins Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift for country albums that have spent the most weeks at number 1, the only difference is none of them did it 9 weeks consecutively. He now also has the most weeks at number 1 among all albums since Drake's 'Views' in 2016.
When Morgan will make another public appearance, who knows. But my guess is soon.
