Sam Hunt's 2019 DUI Revisited
According to WKRN, police received reports of a driver traveling on the wrong side of the road and swerving in and out of the lane. When police stopped Hunt, he admitted to recently drinking and attempted to hand them his passport and credit card, instead of his license and registration.
Okay, so what makes someone a good person?
Driving intoxicated generally isn’t the first answer when responding to the previous question. Unfortunately for Sam Hunt, today we open the curtain back up to his most recent infamous underwear stain from 2019.
(A lot of us have been their before if we’re being honest. Whoops)
According to dosomething.org, “On average, a drunk driver will drive 80 times under the influence before their first arrest.”
Did Sam drive drunk 80 times before finally getting arrested? We may never know, but this metric doesn’t seem totally out of reach. Most of us know a guy or two that is notorious for getting behind the wheel when everyone and the lord urge him not to, and he makes it home successfully many a’ time. Maybe Sam is that guy, maybe he isn’t. Who knows.
I’m not writing a random hit piece on Sam, I’m simply just checking the artist who produces music I happen to dislike. There ought to be checks and balances for the fortunate. There is a price to pay for being a good-looking famous guy who is part of the tear down of the beloved country music genre. (Go into pop Sam, you’d probably have major success.) This isn’t to say the guy doesn’t deserve another chance, but it is to say “we have an eye on you, Sam.”
Sometimes the press gets flack for taking it easy on superstars that we evaluate. I’m here to put your concerns to rest. I promise, for as long as I am a journalist, Sam Hunt’s negative media attention will be covered by yours truly.
Booze it up guy, you can afford an Uber.
