The Dixie Chicks Change Their Name To The Chicks
The ongoing protests since George Floyd's death seem to play a huge role in yet another cultural change. NFL commissioner, Roger Goodall, released a video apologizing and admitting the NFL got it "wrong" over Colin Kaepernicks kneeling, NASCAR banned the confederate flag at it's race tracks, Lady Antebellum changed their name to Lady A, and now...the Dixicie Chicks are now just 'The Chicks'.
The group consists of Emily Strayer, Natalie Maines and Martie Maguire. They are gearing up to release their first album in over a decade, after delaying it due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The trio changed their name with just a brief comment; "We want to meet the moment."
